This weekend has been so much fun! Yesterday was very hectic, with work and getting ready to go! Friday, we left on a trip to Idaho! We have had to make monthly trips for over a year now because of my husband’s braces and jaw problems. Generally they are fairly quickly trios, and a chance to visit with family and let Jackson hang out with his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s!
One thing I have learned in the year we have been traveling, is that traveling with kids is hard! As a kid, I always asked my parents why we didn’t travel more (this was before I understood that traveling costs money haha.) My parents’ response was always thay they didn’t have the time, or that it was a lot of work. Now that I am a parent myself, I totally get it. Even with just one kid, traveling is super hard!
Normally Idaho trips are none too special, but this trip is one Jon and I decided to make special. Tuesday is Valentine’s day, and since I will most likely have to work the night shift, Jon surprised me and took me out to a Valentine’s Ball at BYU Idaho!
Do you guys remember way back in high school, when you would go to school dances, dance awkwardly, and try to impress your date with all your sweet moves? Oh that was just me? Well anyway…last night with Jon was so much fun! It was the most fun I have ever had at a dance, simply because I wasn’t trying to impress anyone. We danced, had fun, and were able to enjoy each other’s company without having to worry about a baby! It was fantastic! We even got t0 go back to his parents house and watch a movie, because baby was sound asleep.
Wednesday, before the dance, I got to go out and pick out a new dress! Lately, I have been so insecure about myself, and I feel like every dress I put on makes me feel frumpy and not cute at all! So Wednesday Jackson and I went out shopping with my brother’s…well…I’m not even sure what they are, but his friend who is a girl, Lauren. We found this super cute boutique called Bella Ella, where I found such a cute dress. My favorite feature? It has pockets!
This weekend has been a blast, and we are so glad that we were able to make the trip to Idaho to hang out with family! We can’t wait for next month, when my sister gets married!
