Ugh! Today has been SO insane! My brother’s girlfriend came to visit, and we were able to go out to lunch, and I was able to pick up a super cute dress for this weekend! I was also able to basically finish the Valentines candy jars that Jackson is giving to his grandparents! One thing that I was not able to do today was bake those dang cookies! I have been dying to have some, but I haven’t had time, and my time to post is almost up! Just because I couldn’t make them today, doesn’t mean that I can’t post the recipe!
One of my favorite traditions growing up was making chocolate chip cookies with my mom. I would always beg to crack the eggs, and my mom always thought it was so gross when I would lick the cookie dough off of the beaters. As I got older, I loved to make cookies for my family every Sunday.
Making cookies is just one of the many traditions that I want to hold on to. Jackson isn’t old enough now, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t bake cookies. Tell me though, have you ever wished you could just make 5 or 6 cookies at a time for yourself, or to share? say no more! I have this super yummy recipe that is perfect for baking up a whole batch, and freezing the rest for later.
The recipe is basic, but it is huge so make sure to use your largest mixing bowl!
Cream together the following:
1 lb margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
2 Tbs. Vanilla
6 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. Baking soda
12 oz (or more) chocolate chips.
Happy baking guys! Keep an eye on the blog tomorrow, I will teach you how to freeze the excess cookie dough. I have actually been super surprised at how many people don’t know how to freeze cookie dough, so I will show you how I do it. Stay tuned!
