How has your day been? Mine has been super boring, thanks for asking! Have you, as a mom, ever felt super cooped up? I don’t know about you guys, but winter months with little kids, means being cooped up! Have a six month old is tough when there is too much snow to go outside and play. Jackson and I have gotten creative to say the least.
Here re some fun things to do when you are stuck inside!
Arts and Crafts: Even though Jackson is only six months old, that doesn’t mean we haven’t gotten our craft on! With Valentine’s day coming up we have made sure to get our valentines done early to send to Grandmas and Grandpas in
Idaho! Here are some fun ideas! Jackson and I just did the basic hand hearts. Later, we are using paint to make little love bugs!
Play Dates: Because we all know that play dates with children kunder one, are really for the parents, am I right?! Call a friend, and meet up somewhere. Babies can play, while mommies chat and catch up on the happenings in the world!
Read a Book: Don’t feel like leaving the house much? That is totally okay! When baby is napping, curl up and read a good book! I recommend:
- The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown (find a summary here)
- Mansfield Park by Jane Austen (Learn more about the novel here)
- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (hopefully the Cliff notes version here will convince you to read more!)
- Any of the Harry Potters, because why not?
- For Elise by Sarah M. Eden (find a summary, and purchase the novel here)
- Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder (find a summary here)
Those are just a few of my personal favorites! What are some of your favorite books to read??
Bake: I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely love baking. Not a huge fan of the calories, but that’s what husbands, friends, and partners are for, right?? I absolutely LOVE to make chocolate chip cookies, and it just so happens I have a pretty great recipe! (Look for it on Wednesday’s blog post!!)
Play Peekaboo: This one is more something Jackson and I have loved to do the last little while. But my point of this one is to play games with your kids! Cleaning can wait until nap time, as long as your child is awake play with them! You will regret it if you do not. These are moments in their lives that we won’t get back.
Cold, rainy, or even super hot days, don’t have to mean torture for moms and babies. Do fun things with them, make memories! What do you guys do to make memories with your littles?
